AND THE WINNER IS...

We had 17 entries to our Fan-Choice Art Print Giveaway Contest Thingy!TM, and out of the the 13 eligible entrants (the others were in some way affiliated to this here blog), a name was drawn randomly from the official GlenMullaly.com prize draw fez with great (okay... moderate) fanfare. And that name you ask?

Yay Brad! I'll be contacting you shortly (or you can contact me) for your mailing address and print choice, and very soon indeed the first official Glen Mullaly print will be hot off the press / printer / mimeograph machine thing and winging it's way across the vast distances of time and space to you!

But how, you ask, did my print votes stack up against other folk's choices in the second part of this exercise? With the able assistance of the accounting firm of Mullaly, Boo & Mullaly, and lead tabulator-chartmaker Joanne we have our results...

I was quite surprised with how the voting turned out for a few of the illustrations (Super Teacher had previously been requested as a print, and I thought that Arcade would have been near the top), but now that the peanut gallery has had your say it helps me decide the 6 or 8 prints that I'll make available in the first batch. Of course now the hard work of painting and stocking the online print store will begin in earnest (Earnest, Cayman Islands that is. The local business taxes are less there). Look for our big grand opening announcement here in the next few weeks - and thanks again to everyone for taking the time to vote!

Yes, you heard correctly true believers... hot on the heels of my last contest (in which a long delay was caused due to my announcing the festivities before I had the prizes in my ink-stained hands!), I'm happy (and more prepared) to announce GlenMullaly.com's second prize giveaway extravaganza...

The Fan-Choice Art Print Giveaway Contest Thingy!

Yep. As a super-secret sneak preview of my upcoming art print announcement I'm asking YOU the consumer to help choose the prints that will be made available later this month. All you have to do is look ( or click for larger version) at the images below - numbered for easy contest identification... the numbers will not be on the final prints, and let me know in a comment the five (5) illustrations you would be most likely to purchase as prints. "Prints", you ask? You heard right... shortly after the close of this here contest-a-rama GlenMullaly.com will be officially launching the first series of 8 high-quality 8.5" x 11" and 5" x 7" prints (along with original art and, in the near future, some other merchandise) through our new on-line store.

More info on that at the launch - but for now all you have to do to enter is... 1: Look, 2: Like, 3: Comment!

The prize? One 8.5" x 11" print of your choice (on Canson acid-free, museum grade heavy paper, shipped flat to anywhere in the world) from the winning designs. Contest ends September 15th.

YIKES 2: Electric Boogaloo!

The current issue of teen embarrassment magazine Yikes! is on the stands now featuring three illustrations by yers trooly. No farting images this time (drawn by me that is!), but I got to doodle future prime minister of Canada The Right Honorable Justiny Drewellyn Bieber III in an embarrassing moment.


On a related (and completely not self-promoting money-grabbing way) note, the original art for this illustration along with the issue it's printed in is up for sale on eBay right now. Wouldn't it look nice framed on your way next to your Vanilla Ice macaroni portrait and your prized Shaun Cassidy String-Art project from 1978?!

Well... it took a year, but I finally got my copies of the the June/July 2010 issue of fab Japanese funk / jazz / latin / whatever music magazine Wax Poetic Japan. They did a piece on 45 adapters and licensed one of my photos for the article. This back issue available here.

I sold off a large number of my adapters to a Smithsonian related endeavor that teaches about the history of design of everyday objects. But I've since started rebuilding the collection.

Thanks to everyone who entered. And waited... and waited... for this contest to end. But the books finally arrived yesterday, and a neutral third party observer (my wife) pulled Kate's name out of all the entrants from out of a hermetically sealed fez this evening.
