Sunday Show Success!

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by the show in Victoria yesterday to peruse and buy my new prints, the new "How Things Work" books and all my doodles in general. We had a lot of fun and met a lot of great folks!

It was fun seeing the new cloth banner up, and getting the positive reaction to the new work displayed around us.

My work might be on newsstands and in bookstores across North America, and on computers around the world, but when it comes right down to it's so much better to get instant feedback from someone face to face.

For everyone who couldn't make it to the show a reminder that all my prints and a few selected pieces of original art (more to come soon) are available at my brand-new Etsy store. And look for future announcements on upcoming appearances. There's talk of an upcoming Con that I might be guesting at. See you soon!

ART STORE GRAND OPENING!

Yes... after years of thinking about it I've timed it perfectly and so, in conjunction with the imminent collapse of the worldwide economy, I'm happy to announce the official GRAND OPENING of the GLEN MULLALY ORIGINAL ART PRINTS and ILLUSTRATION ART store on Etsy!

Here's a small sample of the 40 pieces (including two sizes for each print and some original art) available to choose from for the launch. Stop by and say "hi", but be forewarned... I'll be having the staff check any suspiciously bulging backpacks or hand bags on the way out!

"Monsters at Midnight" 8"x10"digital print - archival inks on museum quality Canson Montval Aquarelle textured heavy paper. Also available as a 5"x 7" print.

"Junior Inventors" 5" x7" digital print - archival inks on museum quality Canson Montval Aquarelle textured heavy paper. Also available as a 8"x 10" print.

"Greek Gods Series 1" 5" x 7" prints available separately - archival inks on museum quality Canson Montval Aquarelle textured heavy paper. Also available as  8"x 10" prints.

Upcoming Show!

Hey, hey, hey! I'm pleased to announce that yours truly will be a "Special Guest", at the upcoming Victoria's Ultimate Hobby and Toy Fair in sunny Victoria B.C. If you've never been to the show it's an amazing event with an arena full of vintage and new collectable toys, comic books, vintage books and magazines, displays and demonstrations from numerous clubs and groups, a charity carnival, costume contests, tons of door prizes and a heck of a lot more (did I just copy the text from the poster? Pretty much!)

Anyway - it's a great time and is becoming more and more like a comic-con with all the displays and more artists in attendance. This time I've been invited to show and sell my new prints (more info on that coming up - I promise!), original art, to sign copies of books and magazines I've illustrated (and pretty much anything else anyone wants me to sign!) and just say "HI!" (all caps and exclamation point guaranteed!). I'll be flanked in "Artists Alley" by  the incredibly talented Dapper Dan and Canadian comic book legend and pal Ken Steacy.

So if you are in the area I highly recommend stopping by for an hour or two (you need that much just to see everything). And don't forget to stop by and say "howdy"!

AND THE WINNER IS...

We had 17 entries to our Fan-Choice Art Print Giveaway Contest Thingy!TM, and out of the the 13 eligible entrants (the others were in some way affiliated to this here blog), a name was drawn randomly from the official GlenMullaly.com prize draw fez with great (okay... moderate) fanfare. And that name you ask?

BRAD!

Yay Brad! I'll be contacting you shortly (or you can contact me) for your mailing address and print choice, and very soon indeed the first official Glen Mullaly print will be hot off the press / printer / mimeograph machine thing and winging it's way across the vast distances of time and space to you!

But how, you ask, did my print votes stack up against other folk's choices in the second part of this exercise? With the able assistance of the accounting firm of Mullaly, Boo & Mullaly, and lead tabulator-chartmaker Joanne we have our results...

I was quite surprised with how the voting turned out for a few of the illustrations (Super Teacher had previously been requested as a print, and I thought that Arcade would have been near the top), but now that the peanut gallery has had your say it helps me decide the 6 or 8 prints that I'll make available in the first batch. Of course now the hard work of painting and stocking the online print store will begin in earnest (Earnest, Cayman Islands that is. The local business taxes are less there). Look for our big grand opening announcement here in the next few weeks - and thanks again to everyone for taking the time to vote!

Contest Ends - Entrants Await with Baited Breath!

First off... I'd recommend a mint. Secondly - the votes are being tallied, and the winner will be announced from the eligible entries later today. Thanks to everyone who entered - all 17 of you!
